Lower St.Lawrence: The “Société Énergie Éolienne” officially created

The eight regional county municipalities (RCMs) of the Lower St. Lawrence region and the Malecite of Viger First Nation (PNMV) have officially created the Société Énergie Éolienne Bas-Saint-Laurent in order to participate in all ongoing calls for tenders for the purchase of electricity from community wind farms. Thanks to this association, these public partners explain in a press release that they should own a 50% share of any project developed in the Lower St. Lawrence region and thereby reap a significant portion of the benefits for the communities.
